BVS managing director Chris Brown explains: "Having worked closely with insurers delivering a much improved claims management and validation service across all perils, we identified that there was a real need for change on claims involving water damage where assisted drying is required."
BVS reports that three in five property claims are a result of internal water damage and this figure is increasing, due to factors such as changes in construction methods and lifestyle.
Continued Chris: "The current approach to the management of these type of claims is particularly fragmented, with the absence of overall ownership and independent validation. This has resulted in long delays and, unnecessary disruption for the customer and in many cases unnecessary strip out works.
"By applying our unique independent validation service, with a single point of contact for the customer, and driving the right behavior with our specialist drying contractors, we can cut drying cycles by up to 70%, resulting in a vastly increased customer satisfaction whilst reducing overall indemnity spend."
BVS has worked with national body the BDMA (British Damage Management Association) – within the framework of its CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) accreditation – to develop a structure for claims handlers and surveyors with a focus on water damage claims and drying and restoration techniques.
BVS Restore launches this week and has already received interest from a number of leading insurers.
