BVS Head of Subsidence Attracts Record Number of Delegates at RICS Event
As a member of the executive committee of the 'Subsidence Forum" our head of subsidence Giles Carter was invited by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) to speak at a seminar entitled 'Structural Building Defects and Insurance Claims'.
The seminar – which was held in both Manchester and Leeds – was extremely well attended, the Manchester event received the largest pre-booking for an RICS North West CPD event in 2015.
Delegates from a wide range of surveying disciplines attended including those from commercial, domestic, local authority, valuation and loss adjusting.
The seminar looked at good surveying practice and what insurers allow. Focusing on the key problem areas of subsidence, heave and landslip as well as some of the other causes of building fractures, enabling delegates to understand the policy and claims process to manage their client's expectations of entitlement.
Delegates included representatives from Chorley Borough Council, Colliers International, Meller Braggins and many others.
Head of subsidence at BVS Giles Carter commented: "It was an honour to be invited to represent the 'Subsidence Forum' at these events. BVS Subsidence provides market leading claims validation for subsidence claims, and it's been a fantastic opportunity to provide our knowledge and insight to the RICS and its members."
