Our longer term strategic development plan for the next 5 years centres around bringing new and innovative solutions to market and diversifying the product range we currently offer. This week, BVS is pleased to announce the appointment of Giles Carter.
Giles has specialised in claims management for the last 17 years, working in a variety of roles in the insurance, loss adjusting and consulting market.
Giles qualified as a Chartered Engineer in 1996 and started out in subsidence working for an engineering consultancy investigating damage on behalf of several Loss Adjusters/Insurers before moving to insurers RSA and then to loss adjuster Cunningham Lindsey in 2003.
After undertaking various area and regional management roles, Giles became Head of Subsidence in 2008, where he was responsible for the strategic direction, leadership and operational performance of up to 300 staff who from multiple locations handled in excess of 17,000 claims a year. Latterly, he was also given responsibility for dealing with building guarantee, valuations and investigation surveys over a much wider range of perils. As a director on the CL Management Board, Giles worked across the wider business, to remove barriers and waste to improve operational performance.
After leaving Cunningham Lindsey he cultivated his own successful consultancy business and now joins BVS in a new strategic role for the business.
Commenting on the appointment, BVS Managing Director Chris Brown said "We're at the early stages of planning a number of exciting new products and Giles' unparalled knowledge and experience of the market will help us deliver the benefits of the inimitable BVS approach – a unique blend of independence, transparency, skilled professionals and cutting edge IT - to a wider audience."
